Meet Our Providers
UCF Student Health Services has a highly qualified group of practitioners to best serve patients. This includes Primary Care Physicians, Sports Medicine Physicians, Physicians Assistants, Registered Nurse Practitioners, Dentists, a Clinical Dietitian, Psychiatrists and a fully staffed Women’s Clinic. All of our physicians are Board Certified. We stress delivery of patient-centered evidenced-based care which puts the patient’s interests first and uses the best clinical approach.
Dr. Deichen is the Director of UCF Student Health Services. Dr. Deichen has been with UCF Student Health Services for over 11 years, and his other appointments included Physician and Medical Director. His educational career began at the University of Florida earning his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and completing his Medical Degree at the University of South Florida, with his residency in Family Medicine completed at the University of Florida. He also holds a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida. Dr. Deichen’s areas of interest include public health, performance improvement, patient education and continuity of care. Dr. Deichen is Safe Zone certified.
Dr. Meyer is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine. He subsequently specialized in Family Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Family Practice. His past experience includes many years as a faculty member of the family medicine residency at Florida Hospital as well as seven years as an emergency physician. He developed expertise in electronic medical records and worked with Florida Hospital implementing their EMR both in the hospital and in physician offices. He continues working part-time as a hospitalist at Florida Hospital. Dr. Meyer also sees patients weekly at the College of Medicine clinic in Lake Nona.
Dr. Roberts is Assistant Director of Clinical Services. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in molecular and cell biology and honors in entomology. She received her Medical Degree from Thomas Jefferson University and completed her family practice residency at Florida Hospital Family Practice Residency Program. Dr. Roberts has an interest in hypertension among college age patients, and has developed the SNAP program to help students maintain a healthy blood pressure.
Dr. Schaus serves as UCF Student Health Services Medical Director and spent 17 years with Physician Associates in Maitland before joining UCF Student Health Services in 2001. A graduate of the George Washington University School of Medicine, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Florida. Dr. Schaus is specifically interested in the research of high-risk drinking prevention and preventive college health. Dr. Schaus also serves as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at UCF College of Medicine. Dr. Schaus is Safe Zone certified.
Dr. Nguyen-Siddiqi received her BA with honors in Biology from Rollins College. She received her MD degree from University of Miami School of Medicine, and completed her residency at Tallahassee Memorial Family Practice. She spent a number of years working for private medical groups and hospital systems in Georgia and Florida, and she established her own family practice in Plant City, FL. Dr. Nguyen-Siddiqi has also worked in the Orlando VA Medical Center, and continues to especially enjoy treating our nation’s veterans at UCF.
Dr. Meuser is Assistant Director Clinical Services. He joined UCF Student Health Services in 2008 to start the Primary Care Sports Medicine unit. Prior to this he was at Personalized Primary Care. Dr. Meuser’s career include a faculty appointment with the Florida Hospital Family Medicine Residency(1998-2006) and Physician Associates (1989-1998). He earned his B.A. degree at St. Olaf College and his Medical Degree at Ohio State. He completed his residency at University of Florida. Dr. Meuser is an Associate Clinical Professor at FSU College of Medicine since 2002. His areas of interest include concussion assessment & management, evidence-based medicine, and informatics. Dr. Meuser has volunteered as a primary care team physician for UCF Athletics since 2001. He has been named a Best Doctor in Orlando Magazine numerous times. Dr. Meuser is Safe Zone certified.
Glenn is a certified physician assistant with a bachelor of science degree in medical science from Alderson-Broaddus University in Philippi, WV and a master of physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska, with a specialization in family medicine. Glenn is a current US Navy Captain, and serves as the director for administration in Portsmouth,VA with 25 years of both active and reserve military service. As such he is very interested in the health of our veterans and works with the VARC here at UCF. He also serves as the PA clinical rotation coordinator for PA students.
Rachelle is a certified physician assistant who earned both a bachelor of health science degree and a master of physician assistant studies degree from the University of Florida. Her area of interest includes primary care focusing on diabetes and endocrinology, specifically focusing on treating students with type 1 diabetes as they transition into college. Rachelle is actively involved with UCF Type 1, an educational and social group for UCF students with diabetes.
Hilaree is a certified physician assistant with more than 14 years of experience in different health care settings, including emergency medicine, aesthetic medicine, urology, and occupational medicine. She obtained a certificate in the PA program from St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens and a B.A. in International Relations from LIU Post (Brookville, NY).
Raiza is a certified Physician Assistant who earned both her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida. She has practiced in Hematology/Oncology, Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine at various clinics and hospitals throughout Florida. She is bilingual, speaking fluent Spanish and English. She enjoys caring for our patients, and looks forward to participating in their healthcare and keeping them healthy.
Connie is a board certified physician assistant who earned a bachelor’s degree in medicine from the University of Florida in Gainesville and a master’s in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska. Connie has more than 25 years of experience in primary care medicine, including family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics in a busy private practice and in the HMO setting here in Orlando. She has also worked for 4 years in psychiatry, providing a strong background to address the medical issues that can arise from the stresses and challenges of college life. She strongly believes in the importance of emotional health in maintaining physical health and well-being.
Kristina began her education at the University of Florida receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She graduated with Honors and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Her Masters of Science degree is from Andrew University. She worked as a family nurse practitioner at Rollins College prior to coming to UCF’s Health Center. Kristina is also works at our satellite clinic at the College of Medicine at Lake Nona. Her special areas of interest are sleep issues in college and medical students and women’s health. Kristina is Safe Zone certified.
Lisa started her education right here at UCF. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UCF, and her Master of Nursing degree at University of Florida. She has been practicing as a family nurse practitioner for 17 years in various practice settings, including providing primary care to all age groups in private practice, walk-in clinics and emergency rooms. Lisa enjoys precepting students and her areas of interest include health and wellness promotion to young adults with a focus on women’s health.
Diana graduated from UCF with her BSN and Master’s degrees in Nursing at UCF in 2004 and is board certified from ANCC as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. She holds a BA in Psychology from Oneonta State College in Upstate NY in 1979, and returned to school for her true calling- nursing and received an AS in 1984. Her nursing career has involved many areas, including pediatrics, women’s health, case management, Emergency Nursing, and for the last ten years- Family Practice. She has worked at UCF and Valencia College as an adjunct instructor in nursing and enjoys mentoring NP students through the UCF NP program. She is a member of CFNPC. She joined UCF Health Services in 2012, working part time while also at a local Family Practice and joined our staff full time August 2014. She believes in a healthy lifestyle to include exercise, positive health behaviors, spiritual connection and building relationships with others and loves working with college students.
Dr. Lease is the Lead Dentist at UCF Student Health Services. Dr. Lease joined the Dental Center in late 2012 after working for 12 years with a rural underserved population at Community Health Centers. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Florida Atlantic University and Dental Degree from Southern Illinois University. He completed a General Practice Residency and Fellowship at Shands Jacksonville and was Residency Director from 1993-1997. Dr. Lease was awarded a Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry in 2011 and is pursuing a Mastership award.
Dr. Mañon joined the UCF Dental Center from a private practice in Winter Springs, Florida. She is a native of Miami and studied at the University of Florida where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and her DMD. She specializes in cosmetic dentistry and oral health education.
Preeti attended Punjab University, Amritsar, India for her BS and completed it at the University of North Florida with a degree in Nutrition. She became a registered dietitian after completing an internship at Southern University, Baton Rouge. She came to UCF Student Health Services in 2003 from a consulting company in Orlando where she was a private consultant to various hospitals for three years. Preeti’s areas of interest are diabetes and eating disorders.
Astrid Volpert, RDN, LDN, became a Registered Dietitian after attending University of Puerto Rico and Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana earning Bachelors of Science in Biology, in Foods and Nutrition and Dietetics and completing an internship at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. Most recently, Astrid worked as the Dietitian Health Coach for Cigna at the Walt Disney World Resort. Previously she held positions as the Menu Planner and Nutritionist for Orange County Public Schools and Clinical Dietitian at St. Cloud Regional Medical Center. Some of the practice settings in her varied experience include Turkey Expert and Bilingual Spokesperson for Butterball Turkey Talk-Line, Consultant specializing in children’s health, and nutritionist for the Women’s, Infant and Children (WIC) Program. Her areas of interest include diabetes, nutrition for health and wellness, sports nutrition, consumer and media messaging.
Dr. Chacko attended St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore India, and received his psychiatry residency training at Brookdale University Hospital and State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY. He has worked for the Orlando VA, Florida Hospital Center for Behavioral Health Orlando, and private practices. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and holds specialty certification in the fields of Addiction Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry.
Dr. Patel attended the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina. She went on to complete her adult psychiatry training at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, DC while serving as an active duty army officer in the National Capital Consortium Program. After completing her training, she continued to serve for the military and was stationed in various locations including Walter Reed, Bethesda National Navy Medical Center, Ft. Meade Army Base in Ft. Meade, MD and Ft. Jackson in Columbia, SC. During her time in the army, she proudly served in Operation Iraqi Freedom while deployed at Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq for 6 months in a Combat Stress Unit. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Klapheke is a board-certified psychiatrist with specialization in consultation-liaison psychiatry and psychoanalysis/psychodynamic psychiatry. Dr. Klapheke began his medical career at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and continued on to residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He completed residency training in adult psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Klapheke is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Fellow of the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and a clinical instructor at the UCF College of Medicine.
Debra Hargrove, A.R.N.P., PMHNP-BC graduated from UCF with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and then went on to earn her master’s degree in nursing from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has served for several years in local community mental health centers to include Lakeside Behavioral Healthcare, Seminole Behavioral Healthcare, and Stewart-Marchman ACT Behavioral Healthcare in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Debra has also worked in the emergency department at Orlando Regional South Seminole Hospital with psychiatric patients. At UCF Student Health Services, Debra serves as a Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and is committed to the promotion of mental health through the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of behavioral and psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Haser has vast experience in the psychiatric evaluation and treatment of adolescents and adults. He is a graduate of University of South Carolina’s School of Medicine and completed his residency and a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute in South Carolina. He is board certified in psychiatry.
Ordella joined UCF Student Health Services from Central Florida Regional Hospital where she was a Nurse Practitioner for the Newborn Nursery, prior to which she held a position with Children's Hospital of Michigan as a Nurse Practitioner for the Sickle Cell Center. Her areas of interest are family practice and women’s health. Ordella is Safe Zone certified.
Ann joined the UCF Women’s Clinic from Advanced Gynecology of Central Florida in Orlando. Prior to that, she had worked in a family practice office for years in Altamonte Springs, FL. The consummate student, Ann has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from UCF. She continued her education at UCF with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then completed her Master of Science in Nursing. Ann has 14 years as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) and is dedicated to women’s health and wellness. Ann is Safe Zone certified.
Lisa joined UCF Student Health Services from University Behavioral Center, where she held the positions of Chief Nursing Officer and ARNP. Lisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. Continuing her education, she received her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, and her Advanced Registered Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate from UCF. She is also a Licensed Health Care Risk Manger. Lisa’s areas of specialty are family practice, women’s health and mental health. Lisa is Safe Zone certified.
Karen began her education in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Augustana College. She continued on to earn her master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and finished earning her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate at Jacksonville University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Karen’s special areas of interest are women’s health, fitness, nutrition and women caring for women. Karen serves as Assistant Director, Nursing Services. Karen is Safe Zone certified.
Lissette graduated from the University of Central Florida with her BSN and then went on to pursue her MSN at the University of South Florida. She is Board Certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Lissette’s background is Women’s Health and Internal Medicine. Prior to joining UCF Student Health Services, Lissette worked at Orlando Health Internal Medicine group for several years as an ARNP. Prior to that, she was an RN for Orlando Health in the Cardiac Intervention Unit. As a proud UCF alumni, she enjoys serving the UCF students and community.
Dr. Hall has over 22 years of experience providing substance abuse and mental health treatment. Over the past 16 years, higher education has been his focus for research and clinical practice. Dr. Hall routinely partners with university faculty, community and government agencies to develop, implement and evaluate evidence informed substance abuse prevention and intervention strategies. He is affiliated with the UCF College of Medicine, and has taught social work and counselor education graduate level courses related to the treatment of substance use disorders, as well as group psychotherapy, and family therapy. Dr. Hall’s research interests include developing brief intervention and treatment strategies to prevent substance abuse as well substance dependence recovery services for college students. His research on alcohol abuse prevention is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Model of an Exemplary Prevention Program in Higher Education.
Megan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Social Work, both earned from UCF. Prior to joining UCF, Megan worked at Human Services Associates providing outpatient substance use treatment to adolescents. Megan’s theoretical framework with students includes the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. In addition to providing counseling to students, Megan coordinates the Substance Abuse Treatment Team (SATT) and handles case management services within the AOD office.
Rebecca graduated from the Capella University and received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland. She is a 12 year Navy Corpsman Veteran with work experience in the medical and mental health field. Rebecca’s past employments include areas specializing in PTSD, combat stress disorders, substance abuse in juveniles and adults, drug court, and with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Rebecca’s focus is to provide a safe place for UCF students to openly discuss their alcohol and other drug use.
